It allows detection and assessment of arterial calcification (atherosclerosis) and its severity, as well as the overall risk of cardiovascular diseases. <\/p><p>The test is indicated in patients with suspected peripheral artery disease or with high cardiovascular risk factors (smoking, hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, age, family history). It may also be used in patients with chronic ulcers to help predict healing prognosis.
